About David Scarbrough Photography

DavidDavid Scarbrough's photography represents a wide range of subject matter.

David began his career in photography as a student at the University of Houston where he worked for the university's sports department. He photographed all sports for the schools media guides and promotional materials. Here David hones his skills as a sports action photographer. 



While still attending classes that resulted in a Bachelor's degree in Communications, David's photography caught the eye United Press International. David began a 9 year stint as a photojournalist covering breaking news and sports for UPI, the Associated Press, and the Houston Post. He also did assignment work for many sports periodicals and news magazines. David's work as been featured in NewsWeek, Time, USA Today, Petersen’s College Football, The Sporting News, as wells as, newspapers and magazines around the country and around the world.

While working as a journalist David lived through the transition to digital photography and digital publishing. As the newspapers went through a consolidation phase, David branched out on his own and established Design, Ltd., a photography and graphic design company. David offered customers new options for printing and promotions due to the lower expense of digital photography and graphic design. 



As the Internet was coming of age, David increased his offerings and value to his customers by adding web design to his portfolio of skills. His customers we able to leverage a complete marketing strategy that including photography, graphic design and web design.



While increasing his offerings, his passion is still photography. David continued to develop his photography skills in commercial and art photography. 



David has won several international competitions for his photography over the year. Many of the award winning images are presented here in this online portfolio.



David prides himself in producing striking images that leave a lasting impression on the viewer. His work is bold while subtle, rich in tone and content.
